Portfolio Performance is a strong fit if you want to keep data locally and configure returns, classifications and rebalancing yourself. Investboard fits a browser workflow that combines analysis, a written policy and regular reviews. Portfolio Performance also supports custom target weights.
The data you need, how you work and where the limits lie. The linked sources explain each provider’s features.
You hold the portfolio file. Open XML files and CSV exports let you archive and process your data yourself.
Feature sourceAn account-based web application with server-side processing. This approach does not meet a requirement to keep all data exclusively local.
Time-weighted returns (TTWROR), internal rate of return and detailed analysis based on your transaction history.
Feature sourcePerformance analysis in the context of your whole portfolio and written policy. Compare identical periods, cash flows and cost assumptions.
Custom classifications, target allocations and a rebalancing view. Portfolio Performance is more than a tool for historical calculations.
Feature sourceA written policy connects target allocations, tolerance bands and behavioural rules to checks of your recorded portfolio.
Desktop software for Windows, macOS and Linux, plus a mobile companion that displays portfolio files. The provider says transactions cannot currently be edited in the app.
Feature sourceResponsive browser access without a desktop installation. A native app is in development and is not counted here as an available feature.
CSV exports distinguish securities-account transactions, cash-account transactions, securities and historical prices. These files contain different information.
Feature sourceThe local importer recognises Portfolio Performance CSV files. Securities-account transactions can be imported; cash-account transactions are recognised but not created as securities positions.
For Investboard: Product and features and Data processing and security. No investment or tax advice; Investboard does not execute trades.
Treat the desktop application and mobile companion separately. The app offers Premium subscriptions; check the relevant app store for current terms. Consider the time needed for setup, data maintenance and backups as well as the price.
Pricing and plan sourceFree: €0.00. Premium: €19.00 per month or €179.00 per year.
Start with 14 days of Premium. Then use Free or choose Premium. Check the pricing page for current prices and limits covering your portfolios, imports and analysis.
Investboard pricing and featuresCheck three things before choosing: Is your broker supported? Does your plan include the analysis you need? Can you export your data in a usable format? A low price alone does not answer these questions.
Back up your portfolio file. Use File → Export → CSV to export securities-account transactions. A securities-list export alone does not contain the complete transaction history.
Start by importing a manageable file into Investboard. Check types, dates, quantities, currencies and costs in the preview.
Keep cash-account transactions separately. Do not assume that dividends and other cash transactions have been fully transferred.
Reconcile holdings and cost bases with the original. If returns differ, first check the period, fees, cash flows and calculation method. A file transfer does not transfer your custom classifications or reports.
Both serve self-directed investors, with different priorities. Portfolio Performance offers detailed desktop analysis, custom target allocations and rebalancing, plus a mobile companion. Investboard records a written investment policy and checks daily whether your portfolio follows it. You can use both: Portfolio Performance for detailed calculations and Investboard for policy reviews and everyday monitoring.
Yes. Investboard automatically recognises Portfolio Performance CSV exports. Securities-account transactions can be imported. Cash-account transactions are recognised and reported, but are not turned into securities positions.
No. Investboard is a responsive web application that runs in your browser, including on mobile. A native app is in development. You do not need to install desktop software to use the browser version. Keep your own exports and original statements as backups.
No. Investboard describes your portfolio and investment policy without providing investment advice, buy or sell signals, or product recommendations. Connections are read-only; you decide what to do.
We reviewed the linked provider pages on 19 September 2026 and checked migration claims against Investboard’s supported imports. We did not run identical test portfolios in every application. The assessment is our own; prices and features can change. Some source documents are in German.
Draft your strategy first. Then decide whether combining a written policy with portfolio analysis works for you.
