WKN (German Securities ID)

The WKN (Wertpapierkennnummer) is a six-digit German identifier for securities, increasingly replaced by the international ISIN.

The WKN (Wertpapierkennnummer, German securities identification number) is a six-digit alphanumeric identifier used in Germany to identify securities. It is assigned by WM Datenservice.

Examples: 710000 (Daimler), A1JMDF (iShares Core MSCI World).

The WKN is increasingly being replaced by the international ISIN, but it remains common in Germany and can be used as a search criterion at many brokers.
